NJR Steel Broadens Footprint with Acquisition of Staalbeer Steel Merchants
A Big Step Forward in Growing Our South African Network
NJR Steel is proud to announce that we will be broadening our footprint, increasing our capacity, and diversifying our products with the acquisition of Staalbeer Steel Merchants’ three branches in Potchefstroom, Vereeniging and Bothaville.
Colin Chapman, CEO of NJR Steel, had the following to say about this new venture:

In addition to the acquisition, NJR Steel has opened its first branch in Cape Town, expanding its network in the Western Cape region. This means that we now have a total of 26 operational businesses across South Africa that are ready to bring high quality steel products to all our valued customers.

NJR Steel has continuously grown since it was established in 1980 in Johannesburg, and has grounded itself as one of the largest steel and related hardware distributors in the country, offering customers a one-stop shop for all of their steel needs.

NJR Steel has their own extensive fleet of delivery vehicles operating from strategically located branches across the country. The company’s large-scale central buying and warehousing facility in Brakpan means that NJR carries stock that can be supplied quickly to their nationwide branches, while still offering customers a friendly, localized service in those areas.
While a few other large steel companies are becoming more centralized and moving towards operating from a single location, NJR Steel is broadening their footprint and opening more branches across the country.
