Celebrating Agriculture & Innovation

Nampo Cape 2024, held in Bredasdorp, marked its 5th anniversary with the theme "Agriculture: The Backbone of Economic Growth". This event underscored the crucial role of agriculture in driving economic stability and ensuring national food security.


Chairman Henk Aggenbach of Bredasdorp Park NPC highlighted how the event brought significant economic benefits to the region, estimating a boost of R15 million to R25 million and creating over 100 jobs during the event period.


NJR Steel Cape Town seized a last-minute opportunity to participate in this prestigious event, setting up an impressive booth.


The display featured a range of innovative agricultural and building solutions including DeFence security fencing, various paints, hardware ranges, and lightweight carports.

One of the most popular NJR Steel products at the expo was our innovative Carport Kit, which captured significant attention, particularly from the agricultural community.


These carport kits require no welding or cutting. The assembly process is straightforward, involving only the screwing together of parts, making it an ideal quick-setup solution.

Diverse Exhibits and Special Attractions

Nampo Cape featured over 600 exhibits with a record 542 exhibitors this year, expanding the exhibition space to accommodate 38 additional stands.


Highlights included the Sheepdog expo, the National Toyota Young Auctioneers Competition, and cultural showcases like the Fynbos Festival, celebrating the region’s unique plant biodiversity.


To engage visitors, NJR Steel Cape Town organized a daily raffle draw, where visitors could win exciting prizes.


Additionally, a giant NJR chair provided a fun photo opportunity, making the NJR Steel Cape Town booth a memorable stop for attendees.

Ministerial Visit and Youth Engagement

The Minister of Agriculture, John Steenhuisen, visited Nampo Cape, enjoying a tour and engaging with key partners, underscoring the importance of the event in promoting agricultural and rural development.


Additionally, a special school’s program brought 500 learners from 30 schools, providing them with hands-on learning experiences, and the Overberg Regional Youth Show offered young participants a platform to showcase their agricultural skills.

Looking Forward

NJR Steel Cape Town's participation in Nampo Cape 2024 not only demonstrated their product excellence but also their dedication to the agricultural sector. Plans are already underway for an even more impressive presence in the next year’s event, scheduled for 10-13 September 2025 at Bredasdorp Park.

We recently wrapped up our NJR Made of Steel DIY Challenge, and we were absolutely blown away by the incredible creativity and craftsmanship that South Africans brought to the table.
